Life Story

I was born in Hawaii, but raised in Michigan by loving parents who valued hard work, simple living, and going to church regularly.

Through God’s saving grace, in June of 1979, I came to an understanding that I was a sinner in need of a Savior. Through the help of my Sunday school teacher, I acknowledged my trust in the finished work of Christ as the payment for my sins and invited Christ to be the Lord of my life.

In the summer of 1989, while attending youth camp, I was significantly challenged by the preaching, and surrendered to full time Christian service. After graduating high school, I prepared for full time ministry by attending and graduating from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.

In 1996, after graduating from Baptist Bible College, I married my wife, Shonda, and moved to Jackson, MS to serve as a Youth Pastor for two and a half years. In 1998, God moved my family and I to St. Charles, Missouri, to serve as the Associate Pastor at Grace Baptist Church, where I was able to minister for over seventeen years. God used my time at Grace to grow my confidence in the sufficiency of God's Word. After 15 years, I had a burden to be a lead pastor and desire to help a church grow in their love for God and his Word.

In June of 2016, God moved my family and I to Nixa, Missouri, to become the Co-Pastor of Victory Baptist Church along side Pastor Ray Brinson. After two years of ministering together, I was installed as the Lead Pastor, in April of 2018.

Shonda and I have four young adult children: Koty, Dalton, Savannah, and Wyatt. We laugh a lot and love simply spending time together. I also love listening to music (all kinds), working outside and watching college football.

Hope for VBC

I hope and pray VBC continues to grow and change in ways that are honoring to the Lord and helpful to the people He brings us. To not compromise on being and doing what God’s called us to do. May God give us wisdom as we help others apply the gospel to their lives.
