We believe that membership in a local church as expressed in the New Testament is deeply significant.
- It indicates that you accept responsibility for the spiritual health and growth of fellow believers in the family of God (Gal 6:1-2; Eph 4:16; Heb 10:24-25)
- It makes you accountable to mature brothers and sisters in Christ for your walk with God (1 Cor 5:1-4).
- It clearly designates you as one of the flock for which our pastoral team must provide care (Heb 13:17).
- It declares that you are sacrificially committed to a shared vision for doing ministry with the other members of Victory Baptist Church (Acts 2:42-47).
To be considered for membership, one must profess faith in Christ as Savior and Lord, and give evidence of a change of heart and of having adopted the views of faith and practice held by this church. Members are expected to be growing in the likeness of the character qualities of Christ, and to lovingly respect and cooperate with the pastor and leaders of the church for the advancement of the work and to faithfully attend the services of the church.
The Membership Process
Learning About the Church
Anyone interested in joining Victory Baptist Church should enroll in Starting Point, a four week class designed to acquaint individuals with our beliefs and various aspects of our ministry. Anyone is welcome to attend. Attending does not necessitate membership, but anyone desiring to become a member of VBC needs to go through the class.
Beginning the Process
After the completion of Starting Point, individuals wishing to join the church need to complete a membership interview. You can contact the church office to set up an appointment.
Becoming a Member
The final step to membership is to be presented for baptism and/or give a brief testimony at one of our worship services. Specific instructions will be provided at Starting Point.
